The National Sports Day in India is celebrated on 29th August on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of the Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand who won gold medals in Olympics for India in the year 1928, 1932 and 1936. In Noel School, Akola National Sports Day was celebrated by organizing a special programme in the school where various sports events were organised in the school in collaboration with the Red Cross Society. The intention of organizing these events was to help the flood victims of Kolhapur and Sangli Districts with financial help. The students who got achievement in different sports were also honoured. Sports teachers, Sharad Pawar Sir and Aniket Shirsat Sir gave information to the students about the National Sports Day. The Principal, Mrs. Arpana Dongre Madam motivated students by her energetic speech for the upcoming competitions. In the presence of Mrs. Arpana Dongre Madam, Mr. Anosh Manwar Sir and Mr. Anul Manwar Sir the events were held in the school. Football, Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis, Cricket and Kho-Kho tournaments were organised in the school on this occasion. About 250 students from State Board and CBSE Board participated in this event. The Sports Coaches of Noel School, Akola Shahid Khan, Irshad Khan, Amit Sanghe, Sushant Charhate, Nandu Aware, Nitin Bharne, Aniket Shirsat, Sharad Pawar, Kalpana Das and Jitendra Agrawal worked as officials for these events.
To mark the birth anniversary of the Magician of Hockey Major Dhyanchand , National Sports Day was celebrated at Noel School , Akola on 29th August 2019 . The celebration was presented by the students of 3rd Topaz in the presence of the Principal of the school Mr. Anul Manwar Sir . The students of Class 3 gave information of Major Dhyanchand . A melodious and energetic dance was performed by the students of Class 3 . After the programme , Mr. Aniket Shirsat , Sports teacher inspired the students through his short speech . He encouraged the students to take part in sports and games as there are many opportunities in jobs related to sports and games . The Sports Day ended with some fun games organised for students .
